3 PEER TO PEER TRAINING
The first ALPA-SA Pilot Assistant training was conducted at ALPA Head Quarters from 18-21 April with 15 pilot volunteers from 4 airlines attending. This is a national programme and non-airline specific, modelled on the Canadian programmes. Read more about the programme from Wendy Santilhano’s report click here.

6 CAPTAIN DON WYKOFF OF USA ELECTED IFALPA PRESIDENT
Captain Don Wykoff of the United States was elected as IFALPA’s 17th President during the Plenary Session of the Federation’s 66th Conference. Capt. Wykoff who is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati, flies 767’s for Delta and succeeds Captain Carlos Limon of Mexico. Captain Wykoff previously served as IFALPA’s Deputy President, a role he assumed in 2010.
Meanwhile, Capt. Rene de Groot of the Netherlands was elected as the Federations Deputy President succeeding Capt. Wykoff.
Canada’s Capt. Rod Lypchuck was elected to the IFALPA Board as Executive Vice Presidents Administration & Financing joining Capt. Korn Mansumitchai of Thailand who was elected as Executive Vice President Asia Pacific.
7 IFALPA SCROLL OF MERIT AWARDED TO GAVIN MCKELLAR
The International Federation of Air Line Pilots' Associations awarded a Scroll of Merit to Captain Gavin McKellar of The Air Line Pilots' Association South Africa for having served the Federation honourably and with distinction and for having made consistent contributions to the enhancement of civil air line piloting by promoting the art and science of air navigation and assisting in the general development of civil aviation.
This was presented in Chiang Mai by the Federation at its 66th Conference
